As Senior Vice President for Digital Solutions at Expeditors, Jose Ubeda oversees all functions of its wholly owned subsidiary, Cargo Signal. Jose joined Expeditors in 1984 at the age of 17 and by 1991 he was the company’s Seattle Branch Air and Ocean Export Manager. After stints in district and regional managerial roles, and rising further to regional vice president duties, Jose joined the executive leadership team in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Global Air. Jose is a member of the Cargo Network Services advisory board. He is also active in the development of career opportunities for youth through the company’s Opportunity Knocks program and as a board member for the Puget Sound chapter of Year Up and on the national board of directors of Cristo Rey.
Randy Gould has more than 15 years of experience implementing technology within complex supply chains spanning a broad range of subjects, including supply chain visibility, data analytics, advanced cargo sensors, and trade compliance. Through various leadership roles, he has built successful teams across multiple disciplines, including data science, graphic design, sales, account management, military, insurance, and security. Randy’s deep operational knowledge has allowed him to design strategic solutions with Fortune 500 companies. Prior to his current role, he managed a customer retention program that included thousands of companies across multiple geographies. Randy is a licensed U.S. Customs broker.
Phil Coolberth has worked at the nexus of cutting-edge technology and kinetic protection solutions along the global supply chain for more than twenty years. He currently oversees Cargo Signal intelligence and security operations. Before joining Cargo Signal, Phil held key supervisory management positions within the Department of Defense, both as an active-duty combat veteran and senior civil servant for global supply chain protection operations at the Combatant Command level. Phil holds a master’s degree in Justice Studies, graduate certificate in Public Administration and undergraduate degrees in Organizational Management. He is often a guest lecturer on supply chain and security policy at local academic institutions in the Seattle metro area.
Derek Moulton's career began at a major steamship line in Salt Lake City and Phoenix where he coordinated inland trucking and managed a fleet of company drivers. He has gained valuable experience in export and import traffic, documentation, customs regulations, hazmat procedures, safety and security, container yard operations, vessel operations, intermodal operations, and domestic trucking. Derek’s expertise in risk management further developed over years managing cargo claims accounts for globally recognized brands. In 2014, he became a founding member of a premium-level, 24/7 cargo monitoring service for sensitive shipments that grew to become Cargo Signal Solutions, LLC.
Arianna Dalceredo leads all accounting and compliance functions at Cargo Signal. Strong accounting, compliance, and business acumen fuel her success, as does her knack for proactive engagement with a wide range of corporate and customer stakeholders. Prior to her current position at Cargo Signal, Arianna worked for more than 10 years in the Seattle district office of Expeditors. While there, she worked her way from an entry-level receivables agent up to an accounting manager. In 2017, Arianna moved to Expeditors’ corporate headquarters to take on the role of Manager of Standards and Training for the Security, Health and Safety team. In that capacity, she also fulfilled the role of Program Manager for the Environmental, Social and Governance program. Arianna has an accounting diploma from Istituto Tecnico Commerciale Marco Polo, Arzignano, Italy.
As a Cargo Signal product owner, Katja Opitz leverages deep operational knowledge of sensor-based logistics operations along with her ability to take complex business ideas and communicate them to technical experts. With rich experience also in economics and training, not to mention a natural curiosity for technology, Katja works to increase Cargo Signal team efficiencies while improving tools and software for better customer experiences. She came to Cargo Signal from Expeditors Munich, where she worked in district security and service provider management and provided local IT support. Prior to her Expeditors experience, Katja was a freelance translator and a supply chain security team leader with an international security firm based in Germany.
